GB PFLAG’s Mission

Greater Boston PFLAG sets out to advocate for and advance equity and societal affirmation of LGBTQ people by building and strengthening loving families, safe communities, and a diverse and inclusive society.

That’s a big mission to pursue (and an important one). GB PFLAG shoots for this goal with three different initiatives: Support, Education and Advocacy.

• Support: to cope with an adverse society
• Education: to enlighten the public
• Advocacy: to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights

These initiatives are achieved by a slew of different programs and services GB PFLAG offers. These include training workshops, helplines, parent and family support, speakers bureaus, political advocacy and scholarships.

GB PFLAG’s Vision

As GB PFLAG states on their website, all of these programs are fueled by its vision of a world in which LGBTQ individuals are safe, supported, included, and equal in their families, in their communities, and in society.
